Justin Bryant was a tremendous young man who was as bright as the sun. His energy and laugh were so infectious. Despite his diagnosis he always remained strong and had such a positive outlook on life. Justin lost his eyesight due to his cancer when he was around 11 years old. As anyone can imagine, your life completely changes when something like this occurs. Justin never let this hinder his childhood. He came to camp everyday with a smile on his face ready to play basketball, sing songs, create arts & crafts and so much more!
Justin showed everyone that even though he dealt with unimaginable obstacles, he never got down on himself and was able to provide joy to so many. If you met Justin even once, it was guaranteed that he would leave you with a big smile on your face and a warm heart.
Justin took his last breathe in May 2016. He's always on our minds and we are forever grateful to have known him. When we met Justin in 2014 we became apart of his family. Now every year we celebrate the life of Justin at SunriseWalks with the Bryant family. It's truly an honor to walk the campgrounds for him. We love you Justin and miss you everyday!
Sunrise Day Camp is the world's first full summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, offered completely free of charge. Sunrise Day Camp, along with the Sunrise Association's Year-Round Programming and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, brings back the simple joys of childhood to hundreds of children impacted by pediatric cancer.
