Since 2019, I have been blessed to be a part of Horizon Day Camp. Horizon annually serves 500 children with cancer and their siblings through a FREE summer day camp and in-hospital programs for children in treatment at Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland, Sinai and Children's National in DC. Our mission is to instill friendship, strength and sunshine throughout treatment and beyond for children ages 3 1/2 to 16.
Horizon doesn't focus on illness just living life now and bringing back joy to children with cancer and siblings who have endured years of cancer treatment and isolation. Simply, we heal families and put smiles back on children's faces.
Horizon is funded 100% by donations and provided FREE to Families - programs that are not only for a day or a week-- but all year long.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month - I am challenging my friends and family to make it Childhood Cancer ACTION month!

HorizonWALKS is an annual walkathon event that raises critical funds and awareness for Horizon Day Camp, Maryland’s first full-summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, offered completely free of charge. Horizon Day Camp, along with their Year-Round Programming and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, brings back the simple joys of childhood to local Maryland and Washington, D.C. area children who are impacted by pediatric cancer. HorizonWALKS will be held on Sunday, October 17th, and will consist of a facebook live Opening Ceremony at Power Plant Live, followed by a walk with family and friends downtown or in your own community.
