Hi and welcome to my HorizonWALKS fundraising page!
I have had the wonderful opportunity to work at Horizon Day Camp for three years now and this will be my third HorizonWALKS. These children are fighting one of the hardest battle of their lives, but because of this camp they get the chance to truly be a kid. I could go on and on about how this camp changes the lives of the children with cancer, their siblings, their parents, and the staff members, but I will do my best to keep it short.
My time with Horizon Day Camp has provided me with countless memories and friendships. But not only has it filled my days with smiles, it has shaped my future career. After my first summer I made the decision to pursue becoming a pediatric oncologist because I wanted to join in the fight with these strong, joyful campers.
Because of your donation, no matter how big or small, you are making an impact in these children's lives. At camp we get the opportunity to take the campers to the pool, provide pizza parties, have superheroes come and visit, and let these campers see their friends in a safe environment because of the fundraising.
At camp we create a magical summer for everyone who attends, whether they come every day or one day that summer, we try our hardest to make each camp day the best day ever!
