A few years ago I learned about Sunrise Day Camp through my job - I made a donation, attended a few events and was so touched by the people I met and by hearing about the experiences they have had with the camp, that I decided I wanted to become more involved. From that point on, I began bringing up Sunrise in social settings to make people aware and more times than not someone in the group either knew someone or had a personal experience with the camp and I have heard nothing but rave reviews on the staff and the camp in general.
I think we can all agree, CANCER SUCKS!
Sunrise Day Camp is an amazing summer camp for kids with cancer and their siblings free of charge for their families. At first you may not understand but let me break this down...kids with cancer - undergoing chemo, losing their hair, not fitting in, feeling tired from being poked and prodded - have an amazing place to escape to where they can bring their sibling(s) and feel a sense of belonging with children going thru similar experiences and turn their frowns upside down by participating in camp activities.
The SMILES that are brought to these kids' faces by this camp are PRICELESS!
I admire each and every one of these children for their strength and courage. They are true warriors. My heart goes out to the parents that try to keep their composure but almost always end up breaking down when educating others on their experience with the camp. No one should have to deal with this disease, especially children, they're so innocent and have their whole life ahead of them.
Thank you for visiting my site. This cause is very dear to me, and I'll appreciate all the support I can get! Together we play a key role in sending more children to Sunrise Day Camp where they can enjoy an environment filled with excitement, friendship, and adventure – where the focus changes from hospital beds and needles to swimming pools and paint brushes.

Best - Kristy
