I was a counselor during the summer of 2022, where I witnessed firsthand the power of Sunrise Day Camp - the world's first and only summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, provided entirely free of charge. Given the high expenses of cancer treatments, this camp provides a significant relief for families already under immense stress. The camp creates an atmosphere where children can feel free while staying safe.
In all my personal endeavors, nothing has taught me more or left a deeper impression on me than my experience working with these incredible children.They've shown me that true strength is rooted in mental resilience. Despite facing the unimaginable challenges of battling cancer and enduring treatments that would discourage even the strongest among us, they greet each day with a smile and positive attitude. This ability to find joy in the simplest moments is a constant source of inspiration and I have never been prouder to contribute to such an amazing community.
