Can I make a donation to a Team?
Yes. You can make a donation to a participant on a team or you can make a general team donation.
Where should I mail donation checks?
All donations should be mailed to: Pozez JCC 8900 Little River Turnpike Fairfax, VA 22031 ATTN: HorizonWALKS-Metro DC 2023
Please include the name of the individual or team you would like the donation credited to.
Who should I make my check out to?
Please make all checks payable to: Horizon Day Camp Please make sure that in the memo it says HorizonWALKS - Metro DC and the name of the individual or team you would like the donation credited to.
How do I find a participant's personal fundraising page?
Click on the home page and begin typing their first or last name in the top right corner of the page. Your options will display as you type.
How quickly can I expect an online donation to post to a participant's fundraising account?
Any donation made online should post immediately. If an online donation does not post within 5 minutes, please contact us.
What happens if I check the checkbox to "cover processing fees"?
If you check this checkbox, you will be charged the amount indicated next to the checkbox. This amount will also be visible to the non-profit. However, on the fundraising page, your intended - initial donation amount will be displayed.
Are donations tax-deductible?
All monetary donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Do all donors who contribute online receive a receipt?
Yes, anyone who donates online, regardless of the amount, will receive a receipt via email.
What is the Tax ID number?
A Tax ID number identifies Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts are deductible to the full extent allowable under IRS regulations. EIN: 54-1145849
How do I add a dedication when I make a donation?
When you make a donation online, you can designate what you want to appear as your recognition name on the participant's fundraising page. This may be your name, or it could be something such as "From the whole Wolf family" or "in memory of Aunt Cathy."
Where do I get matching gift forms?
Matching gift forms come from a donors employer.
Many matching gift forms can be accessed online. Visit our Matching Gift page, search your Company name and click the "Go To Matching Gift Form" button.
If the button does not populate, please contact your employers Human Resources Department or Matching Gift Department.
Note: Please be sure to include the individual or team name the matching gift should be credited to.
Do matching gifts count towards my fundraising goal?
Yes, matching gifts will count towards your fundraising goal. Once the donation is received by HorizonWALKS Metro DC, it will be applied to the individual or team noted on the matching gift form.
How do I get credited for matching gifts?
Matching gifts will only be credited to your fundraising page once the check has been received by HorizonWALKS Metro DC. Please include the individual or team name the matching gift should be credited to on the matching gift form.
If I registered for last year's event, will my information be saved in the system?
Yes, certain personal details from your account last year will carry over to this year. The system will remember your name, email, password, address, and contact information. However, it will not remember your team information.
If you are a returning registrant, enter the same email address as last year on our registration page. The system will recognize your account and request your previous password. If you forgot your password, click Forgot Password? to reset it.
What does "Goal Amount" mean?
During registration, you are asked to enter a goal amount for your personal and/or team fundraising page. This is the fundraising goal that you set for yourself and/or your team to appear on your fundraising page. This is the number that you will strive to reach during your SunriseWALKS fundraising. You are able to change your goal amount any time.
What can I do if a check is written out to me personally?
If a donation check has been written out to you personally, you may endorse the back of the check and mail it in to the following address:

Can I mail in a cash donation?
It is not a good idea to send a cash donation in the mail.
You may drop off the cash in an envelope along with your information at: Pozez JCC (ask for Marcia Sheehan or Michelle Pearlstein) 8900 Little River Turnpike Fairfax, VA 22031
Alternatively you can deposit the cash and send a personal check from your account.

A donor is requesting a Tax ID number; what is that and how can I get it?
A Tax ID number identifies Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Many donors will request this number to validate their donation as tax-deductible. The Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia Tax ID number is 54-1145849.
Not all of my donors are showing up on my fundraising page. Why?
As your donors make a contribution, they have the option of whether or not they want to appear on your fundraising page.
Where can I find a list of the people who have donated to me?
Log in to your dashboard and click the "REPORTS" tab. You will then find a list of all of your donors.
How can I send a thank you email to my donors?
To easily send thank-you emails to donors, follow these steps:
Log in to your fundraiser dashboard by clicking the "My HQ" link in the top right
Click "My Fundraising Report" in the left sidebar
Locate the donor/donation you'd like to thank, and click "Send Email" (If the donor didn't submit their email address, this option is unavailable.)
Type the message in the pop-up window, and click "Send Email"
Why am I receiving emails telling me that I've received a donation?
You are receiving these emails because we would like to keep you updated on your fundraising efforts. If you wish to stop receiving these updates, please login to your dashboard, click the circle icon in the top right corner, then click profile. Click the notifications tab and un-check HorizonWALKS-Metro DC 2023.
What is my personal page URL?
A personal URL is a shortened link to your team or personal page that you can send to friends and family in emails. A personal URL will look like this https://www.sunrise-walks.org/metrodc2023/ben.
