Never in a million years could I have anticipated the impact that being a counselor at Sunrise Day Camp would have on my life. I have volunteered my past four summers at Sunrise and would not trade a minute of it for the world. The indescribable experiences, moments of laughter, and countless smiles is something that is irreplaceable.
Sunrise has shown me first-hand that hope and love have no bounds- regardless of the challenges life may throw at you. For four summers, I've been privileged to witness the incredible resilience of these children, as they paint the canvas of their lives with courage and determination.
Sunrise isn't just a place—it's a sanctuary where dreams take flight, every smile is a victory, diversity is celebrated, and every accomplishment that might seem minuscule is a milestone. Sunrise is a place where children with cancer and their siblings find the simple joy in each other's company, forging bonds that transcend illness and adversity.
