Hi, this is Siggy. Siggy was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma behind her left eye just before her second birthday. She went through 6 months of chemo and 5 weeks of daily radiation and then went into remission. On her first 3 month scan after ending treatment we found out that the cancer had returned. She then began daily chemo for 3 months followed by a trip to NY for her eye removal surgery which was needed to give her a clear margin. She then went back to NY a week later for 3 days of Brachytherapy directly to the empty socket. After this she has been back in chemo treatment for 6 more months. Just this September we have been given the all clear that there is no sign of the cancer. We have another scan in December and are hopeful that it will stay gone this time. During all of this there have been things that Siggy was unable to do or not allowed to do for fear of infections delaying treatment. Having the Horizon Day Camp in Baltimore this summer had been a blessing, since it is staffed with doctors and nurses Siggy and all the other kids effected by cancer were able to do something really fun just like all the other kids. They also welcome siblings which is amazing and Siggy had a blast being able to go to camp with her sister. This is a great organization and we would love your support in this. Thank you.

Help give summer back to children with cancer and their siblings by making a donation to my HorizonWALKS fundraising page!

HorizonWALKS is an annual walkathon event that raises critical funds and awareness for Horizon Day Camp, Maryland’s first full-summer day camp for local children with cancer and their siblings, offered completely free of charge. Horizon Day Camp, along with their Year-Round Programming and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, brings back the simple joys of childhood to local Maryland and Washington, D.C. area children who are impacted by pediatric cancer.

HorizonWALKS will be held in October 2022 at Power Plant Live! starting at 8:00am. The Opening Ceremony will be livestreamed on Facebook at 9:00am, followed by a group walk with family and friends in Baltimore’s beautiful Inner Harbor.

Please consider making a donation today and/or joining my HorizonWALKS team to help raise much needed funds for these deserving children. Your generosity will provide miles of Horizon smiles!

With gratitude,
Bryan
