Teams and Walkers
Teams and Walkers
Our department at Alston and Bird and my family and I, have formed a team for AuroraWALKS, a fundraising campaign, Aurora Day Camp. Aurora provides a full summer day camp, year-round and in-hospital programs, free of charge to children with cancer and their siblings, aged 3 ½ to 16.
I am proud to have served for two years on Aurora’s Leadership Board and I have seen the impact of this unique mission. There are no other programs like these in Atlanta. Molly and I are blessed with two energetic, healthy girls. If either Ella or Quinn were fighting cancer, both girls could attend Aurora’s free summer camp together, having fun every day, a priceless gift to our family. This is what Aurora does.
My personal goal is $2,000 and our team goal is $6,000, which is the cost to send one child to camp for the entire summer. Alston and Bird are also sponsoring our team. Your support and friendship will help us reach the campaign’s $175,000 goal to ensure we provide these powerful, life-changing programs.
You can either donate to my page or join our team as a walker right here.
If you join our team – and simply reach out to 5 friends and family, you will be amazed, I promise! They will give because they care about you, because you asked, and they can’t help but care about this powerful cause.
Aurora will personalize your page, just like mine they make it easy. Contact Maria@auroradaycamp.org or 6789385568 to help set up your page.
Please take a moment to watch and share our powerful video below on the impact of Aurora Day Camp. Every dollar counts and every walker who raises a minimum of $100 earns the official AuroraWALKS 2021 t-shirt.
Our Medical Task Force created strict protocols for this summer’s camp, to protect the health and safety of our children and more than 50 summer counselors, specialists and nurses. We provide free bus transportation from 17+ counties surrounding Atlanta and we will have to purchase myriads of new recreational supplies and PPE equipment.
This is where we need your help. From now until June 13th, the day before camp begins – I am asking colleagues, friends and family to donate or join our team. All gifts are tax-deductible.
Aurora Day Camp will give smiles and hope to hundreds of children affected by cancer. Many are very young. 60% of our campers are under age 10, 38% are younger than 8 years old, they only want to be normal and have fun.
Thank you in advance! Again, there are no other programs like these in Atlanta. Please join us in such a worthwhile and rewarding opportunity to give summer back to children with cancer.
Brooks, Molly, Ella and Quinn.
