Once again I am rallying my family and friends across the globe in my team, Maria’s Clan Spread Smiles, for AuroraWALKS, a fundraising campaign for Aurora Day Camp. Aurora provides a full summer day camp, year-round and in-hospital programs, free of charge to children with cancer and their siblings, aged 3 ½ to 16.
We were the top team in last year’s Walk, raising $21,000, in 10 days and the Walk exceeded the event goal. My family and friends worked hard and this year I have a little bit smaller team, but I am personally aiming HIGHER with a $20,000 personal goal, $25,000 for my team. AuroraWALKS is once again virtual, on Sunday June 27th, you don’t need to walk.
Will you help me reach my goal? You can donate to my goal and our campers at the button here above.
I have been the development director for Aurora for two years and I have loved working with this great team and powerful mission. And because we are a lean and mean organization with tremendous support from our National organization, the Sunrise Association, we are stronger than ever after a tough year for charities. We expect more than 150 children at our full day, in-person camp opening June 14th. At Aurora, it’s not about cancer – it’s about fun. Children fighting cancer and siblings laughing every day, a priceless gift to any family, is what we do at Aurora. 60% of our campers are under age 10, and 30% are younger than 8. There are no other programs like these in Atlanta. Help me give these little fighters a precious opportunity to be normal kids and have fun.
Your support and friendship will help us reach our $175,000 Walk goal and $6,000 is the cost to send one child to camp. Take two minutes to watch our powerful video below on our impact.
