It is with great pleasure and tons of pride I join my "big" sister Maria Myler in Atlanta, as a walker on her team, Maria’s Clan Spreads Smiles in AuroraWALKS, a virtual campaign to raise awareness and much needed funds for Aurora Day Camp.
Aurora Day Camp is Georgia’s only full summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, ages 3 1⁄2 –16 who are in active or follow-up treatment for cancer, completely free of charge. Aurora gives families normalcy, hope, relief and a unique opportunity for patients and siblings to be together. Camp is not about cancer, but smiles, fun and children being children.
Aurora Day Camp is a proud member of the Sunrise Association whose mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings world-wide, with full summer Day Camps, Year-Round Programs and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, serving over 6,000 children last year, all free of charge.
While we cannot host AuroraWALKS in person due to COVID, our Clan across the globe and I are committed to this magical mission. Every dollar counts.
My personal goal is $1000 and our team goal is $17,000! It costs $6,000 to send one child to camp for the entire summer and our Clan can help ensure AuroraWALKS reaches the $125,000 goal help hundreds of families impacted by pediatric cancer.
This summer, Aurora accomplished something extraordinary by transitioning to an all summer long virtual camp that provided endless fun for nearly 150 campers who enjoyed activities with their friends and counselors.

While COVID -19 has wreaked havoc on the world we live in, these very special children need us now more than ever. Thank you so much for helping Maria and I bring joy to children with cancer. Our Aurora WALKS Virtual Celebration is on Sunday, September 13th, 10:00AM. I will send you a picture of us as we celebrate our team reaching our goal!
As you know I have three healthy, happy, only occasionally annoying children. To have a child that suffers from any disease is heartbreaking, to have a child that may only have one or two summers left, I have no words. Please consider a donation of any size, and know you are spreading smiles.
Much LOVE and gratitude
