You don’t join a walk-a-thon because you love to walk, you join because you love someone associated with the cause it supports.
Northwestern Mutual Director/Financial Advisor, Marc Eisenshtat, got involved with Sunrise when a dear friend of his was affected by pediatric cancer. His pain was Marc's pain and he wanted to do anything possible to support his friend.
Marc's Sunrise story started when he attended a meeting and learned about all of the amazing things Sunrise does. Then his son, Parker, decided to dedicate his birthday to raising $6,000–the cost to send a child to Sunrise Day Camp for a full summer. Parker’s fundraiser got all of the Eisenshtat's friends and family involved, but they wanted to do more.
That's when Northwestern Mutual became involved. They started on the local level and then expanded firm-wide. In 2019, Northwestern Mutual–Park Avenue dedicated its golf outing to Sunrise and raised $24,000! That’s four kids sent to camp. Four kids whose focus changed from hospital beds and needles to swimming pools and paint brushes, who got to enjoy fun-filled days at camp while having the comfort of their own beds at night.
This year, Marc received Northwestern Mutual's Most Exceptional Community Service Award which honors advisors who go above and beyond in an effort to lift up their communities through action. Sunrise Day Camp was given a $30,000 gift for Marc's service.
This year Northwestern Mutual will continue supporting the incredible mission of Sunrise. Our goal is to raise $12,000 so we can send two more kids to camp. We appreciate all the support we can get. Together, we really can bring back the joys of childhood to children affected by pediatric cancer.
