This year we will be walking and raising money in memory of our daughter, Daniela Marie Conte. On October 5, 2016 Daniela was diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma at the age of 5. For the past three years, Daniela had undergone various types of chemotherapy, experimental procedures, surgeries, medications and radiation therapy. She had beaten the disease three times until last December of 2019 we received news that her cancer was never really gone.

It's been over 3 years of her fighting this disease. When chemo wasn't working anymore, the doctors had decided to try immuno therapy. Shortly, after Daniela had developed an infection which caused her to be hospitalized in the ICU on Feburary 18, 2020. The infection was so bad that it had spread throughout her organs. Daniela fought long and hard for her and her family but the infection took a turn for the worse. On March 2, 2020 Daniela passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was only 8 years old.

Thanks to Sunrise Day Camp, her sister Gemma and twin brothers, Anthony and Matthew can go to camp for free.

Sunrise Day Camp is such an important part of our lives and we know that it touched Daniela in many ways and her siblings. We walk for Daniela and for all the other kids with cancer and their families.
